OSTİM Technical University Digital Transformation with Microsoft 365, Intune and Power BI

A multi-stream digital transformation program for OSTİM Technical University — combining a Microsoft 365 refresh, university-wide Microsoft Intune rollout, and applied Power BI training — delivered a secure, centrally managed, and analytics-ready IT foundation for a fast-growing academic institution.

Challenge

As OSTİM Technical University expanded its academic staff and student population, its existing IT environment was no longer scaling with the institution. User and device management were fragmented, with no single point of control. Collaboration tools were dated and made remote and hybrid working difficult for academics and administrators. Reporting was largely manual, slowing down decision-making and producing inconsistent outputs. Endpoint security and policy management lacked the standards expected of a modern university environment. The combined effect was visible: lower productivity for academic and administrative staff, and a heavier operational load on the IT team. The university needed a partner who could address these issues as one coordinated transformation rather than isolated projects.

Microsoft 365 Refresh & Modern Work

The Microsoft 365 environment was refreshed and aligned with a modern work model. Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint were integrated to give faculty and staff a consistent, contemporary collaboration experience and to fully support hybrid working as a default.

Microsoft Intune for Endpoint Management

University-wide endpoint management was centralized through Microsoft Intune. Devices and applications are now managed from a single console, with security policies standardized and applied consistently — including remote configuration and protection of endpoints.

Power BI Capability Building

Rather than only deploying Power BI, the program invested in the people who would use it. On-site, hands-on training was delivered to academic and administrative staff, covering data analytics, dashboard design, and decision-support reporting — building an in-house data culture, not a dependency.

Single Point of Contact Project Management

A dedicated D Tech Cloud Account Manager acted as the single interface between the university and the technical delivery team. With clear ownership, transparent communication, and proactive risk management, the project moved beyond a technical migration and became a sustainable working partnership.

Implementation Process

Phase 1 — Planning & Analysis

The D Tech Cloud team performed a detailed review of the existing M365 environment and built a full user, license, and device inventory. Security requirements and priorities were defined upfront.

Phase 2 — Migration & Rollout

The Microsoft 365 refresh was completed, Intune policies were created and rolled out across all devices, and user transitions ran without disruption to academic operations.

Phase 3 — Enablement & Sustainability

Tailored Power BI training was delivered to academic and administrative staff, with post-project recommendations for continuous improvement.
